"Mein Vater Prof. Karl Rosner war Primgeiger der Wiener Philharmoniker von 1938 bis 1969 und hat in dieser Zeit auch die eine oder andere Komposition, meistens auf Wunsch von Kollegen,
angefertigt. Zweifellos die bekannteste davon ist die vorliegende Fanfare No. 1 für 3 Trompeten, 3 Posaunen und Tuba. Seit vielen Jahren zeigt sie den Beginn der Eröffnung des Wiener Opernballs
an, wenn zu ihren festlichen Klängen pünktlich um 22 Uhr der Herr Bundespräsident die Mittelloge der Wiener Staatsoper betritt.
OrchestralArt Music Publications legt nun dankenswerter Weise eine von Michael Geisler bearbeitete Fassung für Blasorchester vor, die weite Verbreitung finden möge."

"My father, Prof. Karl Rosner, was principal violinist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra from 1938 to 1969 and during this time he also composed one or
the other, mostly at the request of colleagues. Undoubtedly the best known of these is the present Fanfare No. 1 for 3 trumpets, 3 trombones and tuba. For many years it has been indicating the
beginning of the opening of the Vienna Opera Ball, when, to its festive sounds, at 10 p.m. on the dot, the Federal President enters the middle loge of the Vienna State Opera.
OrchestralArt Music Publications is now gratefully presenting a version for wind orchestra edited by Michael Geisler, which will be widely distributed."
