Um sich auch als Solist im Blasorchester präsentieren zu können ist die Komposition Pictures of Percussion entstanden. Der Bereich der Schlagwerkmusik hat in den letzten Jahren eine rasante Entwicklung erfahren. Technik, Virtuosität und nicht zuletzt Musikalität werden vom zeitgemäßen Schlagwerker mehr denn je eingefordert – und das auf einer großen Palette von verschieden zu spielenden Schlaginstrumenten.

5 unterschiedliche Sätze, die an den Ausführenden hohe Anforderungen stellen – in technischer, virtuoser und musikalischer Hinsicht.

Anmerkung:

Die Reihenfolge der einzelnen Teile ist nicht bindend und es können auch Sätze weggelassen werden.

Die dynamischen Zeichen in der Solo – Stimme sind relativ zu betrachten und müssen an verschiedenen Stellen angepasst werden.

Der Solist sollte nicht nur akustisch sondern auch optisch gut wahrnehmbar sein: ein Aufbau der Instrumente vor dem Orchester ist daher nötig.

„Pictures of Percussion“

Throughout the last years a lot of development has happened in the area of percussion music. Technique, virtuosity and last but not least musicality must be mastered by the modern drummer – regardless of the great diversity of percussion instruments in use.

The piece Pictures of Percussion was composed to be a platform for the drum soloist and consists of five different movements, which make great demands on the drummer – in all aspects of the instrument.

Explanatory note:

The order of the various parts is not compulsory and movements can be left out.The dynamics of the soloist´s part can be considered relative and have to be adjusted to the soloist´s own concept.

The soloist should not only be heard well, but should also be seen properly, therefore his instruments will have to be positioned in front of the orchestra
